Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Your carpal tunnel is the narrow channel located on your wrist under the palm. Its purpose is to protect the median nerve and tendons you use to bend your fingers. When excessive pressure is put on the median nerve, it causes crowding and irritation of the carpal tunnel, which leads to carpal tunnel syndrome. This condition causes numbness, stiffness, or pain that can radiate through your fingers, hands, wrists, or forearms. Tennis elbow is a common term for lateral (outside) epicondylitis. It happens with repetitive tasks that often involve gripping and extending the wrist such as when holding a tennis racket, paintbrush, or hammer. Severe tenderness will be present around the outside of your elbow and can cause pain with gripping objects, lifting objects, and twisting of the forearm.

Golfer’s elbow is a general term for medial (inside) epicondylitis. It is similar to tennis elbow, except your pain is on the inside of the elbow. This injury is caused by overuse of the muscles that flex your wrist and fingers and overuse results in irritation.
Sprain / Strain
Sprains and strains are very common in the hand, wrist, and elbow and can occur from a quick overstretching of the tissues. This overstretching can cause a tear, which then triggers swelling, causing pain and challenges in movement.
